Door Supervisor Refresher Course

From April 1, 2025, the Security Industry Authority (SIA) requires all licensed Door Supervisors to complete a refresher course before renewing their license. This ensures that professionals stay up to date with legal requirements, safety protocols, and best practices in the private security industry.

Course Overview

Our two-day refresher training is designed to enhance your skills, update your knowledge, and keep you compliant with SIA regulations. The course covers:

1. Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)

• Effective Search Procedures – Learn the latest search techniques while ensuring legal compliance.
• Safeguarding Vulnerable People – Recognize signs of vulnerability and apply best practices for intervention.
• Counter-Terrorism Awareness – Understand current threats, attack methods, and emergency response protocols.
• Preventing Drink and Needle Spiking – Identify different forms of spiking, their legal consequences, and preventive measures.

2. Physical Intervention (Refresher)

• Legal Use of Force & Professional Conduct – Learn the lawful and ethical use of physical interventions.
• Risk Assessment in use of physical intervention  – Identify high-risk scenarios and de-escalation techniques.
  
• Safe Physical Intervention Techniques – Practice non-aggressive intervention and self-defense maneuvers.

Assessment Criteria

To successfully complete the course, participants must pass:
✅ Multiple-Choice Exams – To test knowledge of security procedures.
✅ Practical Assessments – To demonstrate proficiency in physical intervention techniques.

Entry Requirements

To enroll, you must meet the following criteria:

✔ Emergency First Aid Certification – Valid for at least 12 months from the course start date.
✔ ACT Awareness & ACT Security Training – Completed within the last 12 months.
✔ English Language Proficiency – Ability to read, write, speak, and listen at a suitable level.
